Vanessa Carlton Announces ‘Love Is An Art’ Deluxe & Shares Demo Track
It’s been nearly a full year since Vanessa Carlton released her last album, Love Is An Art, in March 2020. Just as spring and lockdown were both beginning, Vanessa’s album offered an ethereal respite. Now, commemorating its one-year anniversary, Vanessa is releasing a deluxe version of her album. It will contain the original 11 songs, plus demos of two of them and a previously unreleased song called “Break To Save.” She did promise we’d hear that one!
The deluxe edition of Love Is An Art will be released in just two weeks on March 26th. You can pre-save it now.
Check out Vanessa’s thrilling announcement below:
That’s not all! Today, fans can hear one of the two demos included on Love Is An Art deluxe. “I Know You Don’t Mean It” is a standout on the album, and its new demo recording shows how amazing it was even from its inception.
Although the album version features guitar, violin, and drums, in this demo recording, it’s just Vanessa’s voice and piano. The chorus is perhaps the sweetest and most melodic on the album, highlighting her high vocals. Then the bridge offers a magical climax of cascading piano. The core elements of “I Know You Don’t Mean It” were already present in the demo, even if the final recording incorporated more textures.
