CHVRCHES Share Best ‘Screen Violence’ Song Yet, “Good Girls”

Next month, CHVRCHES will release their fourth album, Screen Violence. With over six weeks still to go, the band is now treating fans to a third single. We already got to hear “He Said She Said” and “How Not To Drown” featuring Robert Smith of The Cure. Now we can enjoy “Good Girls,” and in our humble opinion, it’s the best song from the upcoming album yet.

“Good Girls” opens with a twinkling soundscape before a dance-floor-ready beat comes in. Frontwoman Lauren Mayberry sings about the bore of killing your idols, even if they may deserve it. The song builds up to an excellent pre-chorus, then the chorus hits with everything good girls are… and Lauren is not. It has a hint of the gaslighting themes we heard in “He Said She Said” earlier this year. This is a powerful song that shows off what we love most about CHVRCHES.
