Garbage – Absolute Garbage

On July 24, 2007, Garbage released their first greatest hits compilation, Absolute Garbage. It featured most of Garbage's singles throughout the years, from 1995's "Vow" to 2005's "Bleed Like Me." In addition to tracks from Garbage's four albums, the compilation also included the single "#1 Crush," originally appearing as a b-side before being included in the Romeo + Juliet film soundtrack. Hardcore Garbage fans also got a new treat: A brand new song called "Tell Me Where It Hurts," as well as the iTunes only "All The Good In This Life." Special editions of Absolute Garbage also included a bonus disc with remixes of 13 songs spanning the band's career. A DVD was also released, including music videos for most of their singles as well as an hour-long documentary. The whole Absolute Garbage collection reaffirmed what a strong catalog Garbage had, with diverse but infectious singles extending over 12 years. Unfortunately, the hit compilation also signaled the start of a long hiatus, one that found the band members drifting their different ways. It would be another 5 years before Garbage released a new album.
