Following the huge success of their self-titled debut, Garbage released their second album, Version 2.0, on May 12, 1998. The album had a similar eclectic, alternative sound complemented by dark lyrics, but the band aimed even higher than before. Version 2.0 earned positive reviews and was the band's second commercial success, reaching number 13 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album also had six singles: "Push It," "I Think I'm Paranoid," "Special," "When I Grow Up," "The Trick Is To Keep Breathing," and "You Look So Fine." Version 2.0 shows Garbage at their best, with uniquely infections songs that are polished enough for mass appeal, yet strange and dark enough for anyone to relate to them. It's a strong album that earned its position on many year-end best-of lists in 1998.
Highlights on Version 2.0 include "Temptation Waits," "I Think I'm Paranoid," "Special," "Push It," "Sleep Together," and "You Look So Fine."
