Hilary Duff – Breathe In. Breathe Out.

Hilary Duff took a long break after releasing Dignity in 2007. Other than a Best Of compilation late in 2008 and a 2009 soundtrack song, Hilary was completely absent from the music scene for 8 years. That's enough to kill even the best music career. But finally, Hilary started getting back our iPods - or Spotify playlists? - in 2014 with folk-pop singles "Chasing The Sun" and "All About You." The singles underperformed, Hilary took a break to rethink her new songs, and in spring she was back with a new lead single: The shiny dance pop "Sparks" indicated a new musical direction more akin to Dignity. Finally, on June 16, 2015, Breathe In. Breathe Out. was out for all of Hilary's patient fans - Hilary made up for her long absence by releasing not a measly 12 songs, but rather 18 new songs between the various versions and bonus tracks. The album debuted in the top 5 on the Billboard 200 and made a strong comeback for the original teen pop queen. The songs were personal yet fun, mixing dance production with earthy elements. Breathe In. Breathe Out. was worth the long wait, and luckily fans shouldn't have to wait nearly so long for the next album.
