Hilary Duff – Hilary Duff

Only a year after releasing her non-holiday debut with Metamorphosis, Hilary Duff released her self-titled second standard album (third overall) on September 28, 2004. Hilary Duff showed a slightly new direction for the teen star, as Hilary raised the rock in pop rock just a bit. Whereas Metamorphosis was mainly teen girl bubblegum pop, Hilary Duff was a somewhat more angsty pop rock album that critics compared to Avril Lavigne. The album only had one proper single: "Fly" was released in the US, but failed to chart on the radio charts. Due to its failure, no more singles were released. However, Australia did get a second single with "Someone's Watching Over Me," which helped promote Hilary's movie, Raise Your Voice. Unfortunately, Hilary Duff received many negative reviews from critics who dislike generously lengthy track listings.

Highlights on Hilary Duff include "Dangerous To Know," "Who's That Girl?," "Fly," "The Getaway," and "Weird."
