Kelly Clarkson released her second studio album, Breakaway, on November 30, 2004. The first single released from the album was the title track. "Breakaway" was co-written by Avril Lavigne, and Kelly's version was included on the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack. The single did so well that it ended up becoming the title for what would become Kelly's most successful album.
"Since U Been Gone" was the anthem that even rockstars loved, and it became her signature hit. "Behind These Hazel Eyes" was nearly as successful, and the ballad "Because Of You" became another signature hit that earned Kelly numerous awards. The huge era ended with one of Kelly's personal favorite tracks, "Walk Away."
Besides the singles, standout songs include "Addicted," "Hear Me," and "Where Is Your Heart." Breakaway remains Kelly's biggest album to date, and one that has gone down in history.
