No Doubt took a long break after their greatest hits album in 2003. Gwen Stefani released two solo albums and had two kids during the time; the other members of No Doubt also started families. The band finally reunited in 2008 to start writing for their sixth studio album. They toured in 2009 to get inspired, but over the next couple of years the band suffered from writer's block, making the process slow. Finally, their long-awaited sixth studio album, Push And Shove, came out on September 25, 2012, led by the fun singles "Settle Down" and "Push And Shove." It had the dancehall, pop rock sound that characterized 2001's Rock Steady, mixed with more serious lyrics, and was met with mostly positive reviews. Unfortunately, the music video for "Looking Hot" seemed to appropriate Native American culture, leading to criticism and the band pulling the video from all websites. Push And Shove was a good comeback album that deserved better reception and longevity.
