Simple Plan's introduction to the world came in the form of their debut album, No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls, released on March 19, 2002. They were among the pop punk bands that popped up in the early 2000s, with youthful energy and clear influences from Green Day's Dookie. Simple Plan epitomized teen angst with songs like their lead single "I'm Just A Kid," "The Worst Day Ever," and "God Must Hate Me." Their second single "I'd Do Anything" featured Mark Hoppus from blink-182, but it was their next single that brought Simple Plan widespread attention. "Addicted" was an uptempo and infectious single that reached number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2003. Simple Plan's biggest hit was their fourth and final single, "Perfect." The ballad reached number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2003, nearly 2 years after the album initially came out.
Highlights on No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls include "Addicted," "Perfect," "I'm Just A Kid," "Meet You There," and "One Day."
