Amy Lee Releases “Love Exists,” Cover Of Italian Song

Amy Lee, the frontwoman of Evanescence, is known for her diversity in music, especially recently. Since releasing the self-titled third Evanescence record in 2011, Amy has taken on some exciting projects of her own. Early last year, she released a 4-song EP of covers she recorded. Today she’s back with another cover, this time of an Italian song by Francesca Michielin. Amy reworked “L’amore esiste” into “Love Exists.”

Amy’s version, like the original, is as powerful as it is beautiful. Piano, strings, and synths build the track into a dramatic backdrop for the passionate lyrics. Amy declares the importance and power of love, explaining that love can develop in a time and place you’d least expect it. Though love can be confusing and can cause pain as much as joy, it’s worth it. It’s a gorgeous song, and Amy is a perfect match for the track.

Listen to Amy’s cover of “Love Exists” below. You can get “Love Exists” on iTunes now. The EP comes with two remixes and an instrumental version.

This is what Amy had to say about choosing to cover “L’amore esiste” on Facebook:

Amy Lee has been expanding her musical horizons quite a bit in the last few years. In 2014, she released her first solo album, Aftermath. It was comprised of music she wrote for the indie film, War Story. Amy has done some more film scoring, and has a few songs in some upcoming movies. “Speak To Me,” from Voice From The Stone, should be out later this year. Amy also has a song for the forthcoming film Blind called “Through Your Eyes.”

A few months ago, Amy also released a children’s album. Dream Too Much includes both original compositions and covers that Amy recorded it with her family for her son, Jack.

In addition to her film scoring, covers, and children’s albums, Amy is also working on new Evanescence music again. While on tour last fall, the band debuted a new song called “Take Cover.” The band also just released a vinyl boxset of all their albums – including Origin. It comes with new recordings of “Even In Death” and their tour intro, “Lost Whispers.” Amy admits that Evanescence is working on new music, though it may not come in the form of an album. She’s secretive so far, but hopefully we’ll hear more in 2017.

There’s plenty going on for both Evanescence and Amy Lee solo. Be sure to get “Love Exists” on iTunes or stream it on Spotify. Keep checking back here for all the latest music news.
