Ghost Share Lyric Video For ‘Prequelle’ Song, “Faith”

Last year, Ghost released their fourth album, Prequelle. Following singles “Rats” and “Dance Macabre,” the band has spent the past year on an extensive tour. But today, they surprised fans with a lyric video for their song “Faith.”

“Faith” is a standout on Prequelle. It opens with dual guitars screaming over a hard-hitting beat, soon dropping into a low chug propelling the song forward. On the chorus, Cardinal Copia sings, “I am all eyes; I am all ears” – an unnerving promise that you can’t escape him. After an instrumental bridge, the song reaches new depths of terror as Cardinal Copia growls the chorus and laughs maniacally. It sounds like “Faith” ends 4 minutes in, but the last 30 seconds offer a new soundscape: a heavenly choir and organ fit for a cathedral.

In the lyric video, we watch as doctors perform a lobotomy. (Warning: you’ll see knives cutting into a man’s forehead.) Artwork – matching the style of Prequelle – forms a border around this eerie scene. It’s straightforward, but effective.
