Back in July, Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness released his lead single “Cecilia And The Satellite,” taken from his self-titled new album. The song is about Andrew’s daughter Cecilia, who was born early in 2014, as well as his own journey growing up.
Now “Cecilia And The Satellite” finally has a music video, and it features a cameo from none other than baby Cecilia herself. Check it out:
Though it’s a bit surprising that the video isn’t set in space, it is a lovely piece of artwork. Andrew is telling a story to Cecilia, and we see a girl wake up in a boat in the middle of the ocean, only to jump into the water and swim to shore. She dances in the sand, joyous and free in her own private world.
Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness came out in October, and is a fantastic album that harkens back to Andrew’s earlier themes from the first Jack’s Mannequin record. It features “Cecilia And The Satellite,” as well as other buzz songs like “High Dive” and “See Her On The Weekend.” You can get the album on iTunes now.
