Evanescence & Within Temptation Tease New Collaboration
Evanescence have been writing and demoing for their next album since May. Although they predict we won’t hear anything until sometime in 2020, it looks like we have something new to look forward to already! And it seems to be a collaboration with the Dutch symphonic metal band, Within Temptation!
In a new teaser clip, we see shots of Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee and Within Temptation frontwoman Sharon den Adel. Over a fluttering beat, we hear a bit of strings and synths in the short clip. It ends with the simple word “SOON” written across the screen, with a flashing “???” just at the end. Very intriguing!
Is it a new collaboration? A new music video? Will it appear on Evanescence’s next album, or be a standalone single? We have plenty of questions, but no answers just yet. Hopefully we’ll learn more next week.

Evanescence & Amy Lee
Evanescence has been making a comeback over the last few years. In early 2017, the band released a boxset of their three studio albums and b-sides, and later that year we got their electronic-meets-symphonic album, Synthesis. After plenty of touring, they put out Synthesis Live last fall.
Evanescence has already begun writing for their next record, expected in 2020. They’re early in the process, but we should learn more in the next year.
Meanwhile, Amy Lee has put out two new songs this month alone. She appears on Lindsey Stirling’s new song “Loves Goes On And On,” and also sang a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” for the new Xbox game, Gears 5.
Within Temptation
Earlier this year, Within Temptation released Resist, their first album since 2014. The album launched the singles “The Reckoning,” “Raise Your Banner,” “Firelight,” “In Vain,” “Supernova,” and “Mad World.” Resist saw Within Temptation tour from October 2018 through September 2019; their last date is tomorrow, Saturday, September 14th. However, they also have some festival dates planed for June 2020.
